Risk Assessment And Research Of Residential Fire Safety In Guangzhou

With the rapid development of China’s economy, the changes in technology and progressof architectural design, construction and management, people’s living standards have beenimproved significantly. But with the development of residential buildings, people’s livingstandard requirements are higher and content is richer. So there are more factors which cancause residential fires. These bring great challenges to residential fire protection. Due tovarious reasons, the fire protection’s development is lagging, and residents’ life has manygreat risks. Therefore, this article regards Guangzhou as an example, analysis and researchesthe urban residential fires:At first, this article elaborates the status of fire risk assessment and management’sresearch development at home and abroad, through the analysis of their fire risk assessmentand fire management methods, finds research gaps. Then article determines to separateresidential fires of others, combines the method based on the information diffusion theory andfield research to analysis its fire risk and management problems.Secondly, the probabilities of Guangzhou’s residential fires, direct economic losses andfire deaths in the next year have been calculated by information diffusion theory model-basedrisk assessment method. The result shows: if Guangzhou’s fire protection maintains the statusquo, the number of fires will be not less than900certainly, at the same time, the probabilitiesof250,375and450residential fires will be100%,51.7%, and7.31%, the associated loss willalso be very serious. So fire situation in Guangzhou is severe.Then,200residential samples have been selected from11areas of Guangzhou toresearch. Through the calculation of mean, standard deviation and range of research data,found: residential fire safety of Guangzhou exists many serious problems. The fire protectionlevel of high-grade, low and medium–grade residences and urban villages are descendingorder. Low and medium–grade residences and urban villages currently exist fire hazards,such as outdated design, a lack of fire-fighting equipment and property management, andserious illegal phenomena and so on. Guangzhou’s residential fire safety level is low overall,low-level area accounts for six-sevenths. Addition, there are similarities and differencesamong11areas on residential fire safety.Finally,20residential fire cases in Guangzhou recently have been collected, and theirinfluencing factors have been ranked by importance, and then analyzed. Found: fire safetymanagement is the most important influence factor type. There are40%cases’ causes are infraction factors, and "group-oriented leasing" causes deaths fires easily. At the same time,The relevance between design specification factors and fires is weakest, butwhen the design specification factors exist, problems are corrected hardly.So article proposes three advices. At first, planning and arrangement should be done ingovernment-level to make fire protection and economic growth walk together. a variety of firesafety education and training of professional residential fire management personnel should becarried out. Finally, public security and fire monitoring functions should be strengthened, andmanagement of residential fire safety law should also be strict.
