Nowadays, car accidents are causing serious damages. Car manufacturers around theworld are making efforts on automotive safety technology in order to reach ideal automotivesafety performance, ie zero death in accidents. The "People-Vehicle-Road" cooperativeintelligent transport systems will be able to reach this ideal state. A key part of"People-Vehicle-Road" cooperative intelligent transport systems is the vehicle safety assistantsystem based on panoramic vision, which makes use of electronic information technology toexpand the driver’s field of vision, so to effectively reduce the incidence of traffic accidents.This dissertation analyzes the current research on panoramic vision of automotive safetydriving support system and presents our in-depth study on how to design an embedded digitalsignal processing system platform to implement a panoramic vision system, aiming to fill inthe gap in the platform design of panoramic vehicle safety assistant system in domesticuniversities and research institutes.This dissertation also presents the innovative design of the9-point interpolationalgorithm. Base on the features of panoramic vision system algorithms, we innovativelypropose the implemetation of Texas Instruments DaVinci technology for panoramic visionsystems on cars. We also study the design of digital image processing system based onTMS320DM642processor and build the plaform of panoramic vision system. We write theunderlying code of the panoramic vision system, integrate the software and hardware system,and finally run the simulation test and real car test, proving the effectiveness of the system.Laboratory simulation test and real car test generated high definition and and smoothpanoramic video, which suggests that our DaVinci technology-based design has exellentperformance on panoramic vision based vehicle safety assistant system; The innovative9-point interpolation algorithm consumes reasonalbe hardware resources and yields gooddisplay quality, and greatly improves video smoothness after optimization. The embbededsystem based design of panoramic vision vehicle safety assistant system is successful.
