Because of its all-weather,high precision and high efficiency features.GPS(Global Positioning System) has been widely used in personal communication terminals,car navigation and so on.In addition to GPS functionality,the portable information system, with dynamic audio and video signal collection,encoding and decoding,sniper localizer and wireless transmission functionality,can be applied to field exploration and individual equipment of the military field.In this paper,we focus on the GPS and inertial navigation technology.With electronic map and LCD display device,GPS technology provides visualizable navigation.It is widely used in traffic management,PDA and so on.If at least four satellites' signal was received by GPS receiver,the positioning functionality can be realized.However,when the satellite signal encounters shelter,GPS can not work properly.While,with the acceleration and 3D posture information from MTi module,we can calculate the displacement with reference to the location of GPS signal failure.So we can calculate the location of the GPS module according to the displacement and realize the assisted positioning and navigation functionality finally.According to the demands of portable information system,such as low power consumption,small size,strong processing capacity and so on,and the development status of embedded processing platform,we study GPS and inertial navigation technology based on Davinci platform.In this paper,we accomplish the serial communication between GPS module and Davinci platform in CCS(Code Compose Studio) integrated development environment. At first,we can get the latitude and longitude data from GPS module by sending a set of binary configuration information.Then,the 2D positioning information is displayed on the LCD after the extraction and conversion for the information on Davinci platform.We fulfill the interaction between MTi(Motion Tracking) Module and Davinci platform.Firstly,we set the work mode of MTi module and the format of output data by sending binary configuration information to get the information of acceleration,heading angle,pitch angle and so on.Then,we calculate the movement direction of MTi module by the heading angle and the positive and negative of it.According to the integral algorithm,we respectively calculate the X,Y,Z axis displacement after getting 3D acceleration in the time integral(â–³t=10ms).So,we can get the displacement of the MTi module in a certain period by accumulating.At last,we preliminarily study the projection of acceleration gravity and acceleration movement in 3D space.And,we research the problem of displaying the trajectory of MTi module display on LCD based on Davinci platform.
