Abstract/Summary:
Currently, car has been the one of the most vital tools for developing the quality of people’s lives, not only as a vehicle for travel, but also as a tool for manufacture. With the growth of car ownership, however, people started to focus on the safety issue of the traffic. So the driver assistance safety equipment are invented by designers, especially the visual driver assistance safety equipment are more popular than other types. Among the driver assistance safety equipment, the panoramic vision driver assistance systems is one of the best ways to guarantee the safety of the drivers and passengers.As with the development of the computer science and technology, reconfigurable SOPC system, which is more flexible, more efficiently etc., is widely used by the industry now. The system based on DE2-70FPGA platform is built on the car model, and it is also a panoramic vision system with reconfigurable feature. The DE2-70platform only has two video-in ports, so it cannot fulfill the need of the paper and to solve the problem of capturing video, it is necessary for us to design a new board that supported at most6video-in ports. Furthermore, hardware and software co-design method is used to research the SOPC system. According to the reconfigurable feature of the system, it can be analyzed, compared and optimized for the sake of the performance of the system. Finally, the performance gets to the optimum.The paper’s achievements are as follows:1、Based on the classical hardware and software co-design method, the paper proposed a new method which is called recursion hardware and software design methods and principles of system division. Compared with the classical one, the new method is more flexible and more efficiently.2、The system is divided into five parts, which are multiple image acquisition, image data decoding, moving images, mosaicking images and display. They are all implemented with a hardware project and designed for IP core.3、For transferring the4images data to the DE2-70platform, the multiple images acquisition board is designed to resolve the problem that the number of the video-in ports are not enough on the DE2-70platform. As a result, it fulfills the need of the system in the limited resources.4、It is not necessary for upgrading and adjusting new type cars to modify the hardware of the system, because you just need to regenerate the mosaicking tables for the system.
