Research On The Redevelopment Of Industrial Heritage In Ruhr From The Aspect Of Regional Tourism Development

Exploitation of industrial heritage in the way of regional tourismdevelopment is a significant part of regional upgrade and promotion of a city.Selecting Ruhr district in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany as the study object ofindustrial heritage tourism, this dissertation briefly reviews the Ruhr district’sdevelopment progress and historical background of each development stage,systematically studies and evaluates the exploitation cases of industrial heritagetourism in Ruhr district, and deeply analyzed the influential factors as well asplanning methods of regional tourism development of Ruhr district in detailed.The development elements of industrial heritage in Ruhr from the aspect ofregional tourism development conclude resources elements, market elements andproduct elements. Factors of tourism resource and tourism market are classifiedas intrinsic influential factors to the development, while factors of developmentpolicy and implementing management are considered as extrinsic factors to thedevelopment. For one thing, this dissertation analyzes the contents anddistinguishing features of tourism resource and tourism market in Ruhr district,which clarifies the objective conditions and advantages of development ofregional tourism in Ruhr district.The planning elements of industrial heritage in Ruhr from the aspect ofregional tourism development conclude three levels of regional network, regionalaxis and regional node by spatial scales in sequence. From the level of regionalnetwork, this dissertation analyzes spatial structural layout, construction oftraffic system and promotion of ecological system, into which are integratedknowledge of tourism planning, regional planning and ecology, and evaluatesmethods of planning and design of space planning, traffic construction andecological reform in Ruhr district. From the level of regional axis, thisdissertation introduces planning of tour route and desig n of slow lane, anddescribes the construction of connecting passage in space structure of Ruhrdistrict. From the level of regional node, according to the characteristics ofdifferent development patterns, this dissertation respectively studies the planni ngtechniques of models of complex, museum, landscape park and observation point, which includes contents of building renovation, landscape promotion and fieldrecovery, et al.The implementation elements of industrial heritage in Ruhr from the aspectof regional tourism development conclude administration elements, policies andregulations elements and market operation elements. This dissertationcomprehensively concludes the methods of planning and implementation as wellas operation in Ruhr district from the aspects of development policy andimplementing management. As for the factor of development policy, thisdissertation chooses policies of regional planning, economic revival andecological recovery, inter alia, to deeply dissect overall development of Ruhrdistrict from the perspectives of society, economy and environment. As for thefactor of implementing management, the dissertation takes major methods ofimplementing management into accounts, such as democratic decision-makingsystem, administrative management system, capital raising channels and marketoperating measures, et al., in order to summarize and conclude the experience ofsuccessful management and operation in Ruhr district.In summary, through the case studying of exploitation of industrial heritagein Ruhr district by means of regional tourism development, this dissertationanalyzes influential factors to the planning and design of exploitation, as well asconcludes relevant methods of planning and design of exploiting projects. It isexpected that this dissertation will provide a reliable theoretical basis andpractical reference for the urgent work of developing regional tourism ofindustrial heritage in China.
