Bee pollen is a natural health food with a high nutritional value, so more and more people are fond of it. In order to take full advantage of every kind of bee pollen that have different health care functions, a variety of mixed bee pollen need to be sorted and purified. Due to bee pollen have the characteristic of soft texture and fragile, the conventional color sorting apparatus do not fit it. At present, mixed bee pollen mainly rely on manual classification and artificial purified, but the method has low efficiency and poor consistency. Therefore, this article focuses on the subject of rape bee pollen, and designed a kind of automatic sorting equipment suited to the characteristics of the physical properties of the bee pollen. In order to achieve rapid sorting for rape bee pollen, an experimental system that was composed of an automatic feeding device, machine vision device and automatic control device was set up. Specific studies are as follows.(1)Under the condition of moisture content ranging from six percent to eight percent, the physical characteristics were measured for rape bee pollen granules such as the sizes of triaxial, the weight of one thousand bee pollen, the density, the angle of repose, the sliding friction angle, the hardness and the maximum crushing force and so on. According to the physical characteristics parameters such as triaxial size, angle of repose and sliding friction angle, the feeding chute was designed. The inclination angle of the baffle was set to 30 °, 25 °, 20 ° and 15 °, in addition,the gap between adjacent baffle was 20 mm, 15 mm, 10 mm and 10 mm respectively in order to increase rape bee pollen route and thereby dispersing rape bee pollen. The motive power of rape bee pollen sliding down the chute was provided by eccentric motor.(2)The linear vibration dispersing and shaping equipment based on the sloping V-groove was designed. According to the analysis of linear vibration dispersion mechanism, the inclined angle and vibration mode of rape bee pollen inverse dispersed movement and the voltage of controller were determined. According to the dispersed form of rape bee pollen, the theoretical model parameters of rape bee pollen granules inverse dispersed movement in a V-groove were calculated. On the basis of dispersed state of rape bee pollen on the conveyor belt, the geometric dimension of shaping device and the placement of solenoid valves, dust-removal device and recycling equipment were determined.(3)A lighting system that was composed of a lights and a camera was set up on the basis of color feature of rape bee pollen on the conveyor belt. The image of bee pollen granules acquired by machine vision system w as analysed. The system is applied to discern 427 rape bee pollen granules(including impurity particles),the results showed that correct recognition rate was 94.85%. The operator interface of image acquisition was programmed by VS2012 and Qt5.2.The experimental data from 9 channels was counted and processed. The results showed that the average purity of rape bee pollen granules after sorting was 86.98% and the sorting efficiency was 16.56g/min.
