With the pharmaceutical industry gradually integrate with international counterparts, the pharmaceutical industry has higher requirement about the quality of the drugs packing. In our country, automation application scope is expanded year by year. Therefore, the automation equipment is also gradually being applied in the field of pharmaceutical packaging.In this context, this paper presents a design and research of automatic sorting machine about medicine, the equipment is mainly based on machine vision system to detect the defect of aluminum-plastic blister packaging. After the equipment arranged the medicine, machine vision detection system can identify medicine of defects, and sorting eliminates them. This paper is based on industry background and the actual situation of pharmaceutical industry. And design and build the experimental prototype. the main work in the following aspects: first of all, In terms of mechanical structure, This paper divides the area from the function of the sorting machine, and expounds the main functions of the various regions and the design train of thought in detail, And design analysis according to the design idea of the movement and the actuator component, and choose the types of components; In terms of motion control, motion control card and the effect of light source control panel functions are studied, and This paper design and research the core controller of motion control system, such as the movement control cards with the light source control panel. In machine vision system, the main composition of machine vision system is researched generally and each part of the device selection are introduced. Then the collected images by machine vision system are disposed and the image processing and algorithm are researched. Finally, the experimental prototype was tested.
