Water injection pump was used to inject high pressure water to the reservoir and replenish their energy, maintain reservoir pressure, it was one of the most important method to increase the production rate and recovery. The current disadvantage of injection pump is that the life of vulnerable parts is short, the rate of normal work is low. So it is urgently needed on the field to develop some new type of injection pump which is long life and has high water injection pressure.The development situation of injection pump at home and abroad was researched, on the basis of the original injection pump, combined with site conditions and design data, a new 3H-8/450 type of high-pressure injection pump was designed, the separation design of pump head and the design of combined valve was done, it achieved 40% weight loss.Based on the design size, three-dimensional solid modeling of key pump parts were build by using three-dimensional software solidworks, and the assembly relationships and interference were checked. The research analyze the stress of new 3H-8/450 type of high-pressure injection pump by using the finite element analysis software ansys, combined with the actual working conditions impose boundary conditions, the stress analysis of pump head and combined valve were done under the suction and discharge of the working process. From the result,it was found that the strength were in line with the conditions.The modal analysis and harmonic response analysis of new 3H-8/450 type of high-pressure injection pump were done,and it found that the natural frequency of the pump head was large and the possibility of resonance was low.The fatigue analysis of 3H-8/450 high-pressure injection pump showed that it’s use time was more than 10,000 hours, and it meet the requirements of injection pump’s fatigue life in Oilfield. Based on the finite element model of the pump head, topology optimization analysis was done to improve the relevant parameters, it further achieved 8.2% weight loss on the base of cylinder design. The result shows that the maximum stress of the head increased slightly, but still meet the strength condition and the fatigue life meets the requirements, the natural frequency decreased slightly, but has little effect on the vibration characteristics.So far, the split head pump has been used more than 28 sets in the Hekou oil production Plant, and it achieved good effect.
