A Founctional Study On Shuivantong Culture Of Yunnan From The Perspective Of Anthropology

Shuiyantong is a smoking tool with a water pipe, from which the chemical constituent can be filtered. It is popular in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Guizhou province. Shuiyantong is of much cultural significance and there are many fairy tales, customs, poetry, crafts about it. Shuiyantong has been one of the local cultural symbol in Yunnan.This study takes the tobacco and Shuiyantong culture as the study object, attempting to introduce the Shuiyantong,how it was produced, what is Shuiyantong culture and it’s function.The first of which is the introduction of Yunnan Shuiyantong, including the concept of Shuiyantong, manufacture method and the types of its, and also reference to some requirements of a good Shuiyantong and some conceptions of health of local people.This paper discusses the specific connotation of the Shuiyantong culture from etiquette, customs and folk songs and dances. Etiquette mainly includes the politeness during offer cigarettes; Marriage and funeral customs is mainly refers to a range of rituals related to wedding ceremony and funeral; folk dance is from folk songs and dances are discussed, Folk songs and dances refer to the love songs and the dance of cigar case.Physiological and psychological experience, social interaction and status symbols, all of these are the function of Shuiyantong culture.
