Research On The Relationship Between Urbanization And Ecological Environment Quality

Urbanization is the objective trend of the development of human society, and it is an important symbol of the modernization of our country. At the national two sessions in 2016, it rose new urbanization construction to the focus of promoting the strategic adjustment of economic structure and realizing the transformation of the mode of economic development, and it set the new urbanization construction as the top priority of the 13th five-year plan outline. In recent year, urbanization in Shaanxi Province has entered a critical period of accelerated development, and the positive energy contained in urbanization continues to release, but the extensive mode of urban development has led many "city problems" arise, which include deterioration of the environment, air pollution, water shortages and traffic congestion, so the situation of the ecological environment is very grim, and environmental protection is very urgent. Under this realistic background, with Shaanxi Province as an example, it has great theoretical and realistic significance to study in-depth about the interaction between urbanization and ecological environment quality from multi-angles and all-round for leaning urbanization to benign development path.In the paper, with ecological economic theory as the guidance, first of all, it carries out the qualitative analysis of the interaction between urbanization and ecological environment from the theoretical and empirical point of view; secondly, it carries out the research on the relationship between Shaanxi Province’s urbanization and the ecological environment quality by using the combined method of normative analysis and empirical analysis. Through the description, statistics and analysis of the collected data and the related information, it reveals the present situation and existing problems of Shaanxi Province’s urbanization by starting with the connotations of urbanization and with the speed of urbanization, urbanization quality, land urbanization process, spatial urbanization layout, economic development and other aspects as the breakthrough point; it reveals the status quo of the environment of Shaanxi Province with industrial SO2, waste water pollution and smoke (powder) dust and carbon emissions as the starting point. Then, with the comprehensive index system of urbanization and the evaluation system of ecological environment as the foundation for analysis, it reduces dimension to the index system by using principal component analysis, and it verify the influence path of urbanization on ecological environment from the empirical point of view; from the qualitative point of view, the paper analyzes the reaction of ecological environment to urbanization, and reveals the interactive relationship between the two. Finally, based on the actual situation in Shaanxi Province, it is concluded in the paper that urbanization’s influence on ecological environment presents the inverted U-shaped trend. The advance of urbanization will influence the ecological environment by population aggregation, economic growth, the increase in income levels, industrial transfer, the area changes of built-up areas and other paths, and the deterioration of the ecological environment will also hinder the development of urbanization.
