Tungsten is one of the rich storage metals in our country. Nanometer tungsten oxide as an important new material has a wide range of applications in the electronic,energy, military fields. So, the development of high-performance tungsten oxide nanomaterials has extremely important practical significance.WO3 is one of the typical cathode electrochromic(EC) material, so far one of the most widely used electrochromic(EC) material. It is because of WO3 thin films contains large changes of visible light transmittance, low price, good cycle performance, long life and other advantages, WO3 thin films gradually become the research hot spot. There have been relatively extensive research in the preparation of WO3 thin films, electrochromic performance and photocatalytic performance at present.There are many methods in preparation of WO3 thin film:vacuum evaporation,electrochemical deposition, sol gel method, chemical vapor deposition, magnetron sputtering and so on. Magnetron sputtering is a widely used preparation method which films exhibits an excellent layer adhesion, uniform film thickness is easy to control. It’s convenient for the experimental research, but also easy to large-scale industrial production. These advantages make magnetron sputtering method become a relatively ideal preparation method. Except of its electrochromic performance, WO3 thin film materials exhibits super conductivity performance, photochromic performance and so on, Although these performances have been widely studied, its semiconductor performance has not been fully utilized, as its semiconductor performance is based on photocatalytic performance.With today’s worsening environment problem, photocatalytic technology as a kind of ideal environment pollution control technology is one of the most active area of research at home and abroad in recent years. In this article, we prepared the regularhexagon WO3 films on the anodized aluminum oxide(AAO) with the magnetron sputtering method, the films photodegradation on the AAO have greatly been improved.
