In order to achieve better clothing comfort, researchers continue to research new fibers and ways to improve fiber properties. The traditional viscose fiber has excellent moisture absorption. Fabrics made of viscose fibers are breathable, absorbent, soft, comfortable which can satisfy the customer, but wet strength is lower than the dry strength. Bramante fiber is a new type of viscose fiber, with a typical hollow structure. Fabrics woven with Bramante fibers are lightweight, flexible, excellent moisture permeability and high moisture absorption. The fiber is imported into the domestic market recently which has not yet been promoted. And studies of fiber performance are very few, so the systematic research of the fiber and fabric is of great significance.Scanning electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy techniques were used in the comparison test between Bramante fiber and viscose fiber. Properties like vertical and cross-section, internal structure, tensile properties and moisture absorption are researched. The results show that Bramante fiber has a unique hollow structure, surface covered with longitudinal grooves. Its moisture absorption is higher than ordinary viscose fiber, but has lower strength.Yarns were blended with Bramante fibers and cotton fibers, and the problems in the spinning process were summed up. Basic properties of blended yarns such as elongation, moisture absorption and abrasion resistance were studied. Theoretical model was established to analysis the relationship between blending ratio and strength and elongation of the yarns, and the moisture regain theory of blended yarns was used to confirm the influence of moisture regain caused by blending ratio.Blended yarns were made into knitted fabrics. Basic mechanical properties like drape, bursting strength, abrasion resistance as well as thermal and moisture comfort were researched. The results show that Bramante fibers can improve the drape property and thermal and moisture comfort, but have bad effects on other mechanical properties. Finally, the gray near-optimal theory was used to analysis the optimized determination of blended yarns and blended fabrics. The best blending ratio was made according to the performance of blended yarns and fabrics. Guidance was given for the actual production.
