Acrylic fiber has excellent properties such as good mechanical properties,good bulkiness,acid and alkali resistance,but it has poor hygroscopicity,low moisture regain,and static electricity,which reduces the thermal and moist comfort of acrylic clothing and limits the further development of acrylic fiber.The development of comfortable acrylic fiber and fabric has important practical significance.Defrostex fiber is a modified acrylic fiber newly developed by Toyobo Co.,Ltd.,which has high moisture absorption and release characteristics.In this study,defrostex fiber was used as the raw material,and by performance testing and comparative analysis of textiles at different stages to provide a reference for the application and optimization of defrostex fiber.Firstly,the surface morphology and chemical structure of defrostex fiber and acrylic fiber was tested.The results showed that the cross-section of defrostex fiber is relatively regular and round,with cracks and holes on the longitudinal surface.Defrostex fiber has no strong-CN absorption peak at 2250.0cm-1,but the fiber macromolecule contains a strong hydrophilic carboxylic acid structure.Secondly,the moisture absorption and moisture release performance of defrostex fiber,acrylic fiber,cotton fiber,wool fiber,modal fiber,polyester fiber and hemp fiber were tested and analyzed for comparison,and the repeated moisture absorption and moisture release performance of defrostex fiber,wool fiber and hemp fiber were studied.The results showed that the moisture regain rate of defrostex fiber is 7.97%,which is similar to that of cotton fiber and hemp fiber.The moisture absorption performance of defrostex fiber under different environmental humidity is similar to wool fiber and modal fiber.The moisture regain rate increases with the increase of environmental humidity.It is obviously affected by the change of environmental humidity.Under high humidity environment,it can be faster and more Moisture absorption,moisture absorption performance is better than hemp fiber.The moisture absorption performance of defrostex fiber at different ambient temperatures is similar to that of modal fiber,and it is less affected by changes in ambient temperature.Under high temperature environments,the moisture absorption performance decreases.The moisture release performance of defrostex fiber under standard atmospheric conditions is similar to that of cotton fiber;the moisture release curve of defrostex fiber under different humidity environments is similar to that of polyester and cotton fibers.When the environmental humidity is too low,the moisture regain achieved by the fiber will be significantly reduced.The moisture release curve of defrostex fiber under different temperature environments is similar to that of wool fiber,and the moisture release performance is less affected by temperature.After repeated experiments for many times,defrostex fiber exhibited more stable moisture absorption and release properties than hemp fiber and wool fiber.Thirdly,the fineness,tensile properties,and friction properties of fiber were tested and analyzed for comparison.The fineness of defrostex fiber is 1.58dtex.Compared with other fibers,defrostex fiber has the smallest breaking strength and friction coefficient,and the largest elongation at break.Finally,In order to explore the influence of blended raw materials and blending ratio on the properties of yarns and fabrics,10 types of blended yarns were designed,and the moisture absorption,moisture release and other properties of the yarns and fabrics were compared and tested.The results showed that when blended with modal fiber or tencel fiber,defrostex products have excellent moisture absorption and release performance,yarn quality and fabric thermal and wet comfort performance.When blended with cotton fiber,defrostex products have good moisture absorption and release performance,and the fabric has good thermal and moisture comfort performance,cotton/defrostex fabric has better thermal and moisture comfort performance,good moisture absorption and release performance,high moisture permeability,water absorption,and wicking height.When blended with polyester fiber,the yarn has excellent mechanical properties and good yarn quality,and the fabric has good moisture absorption and air permeability.As the content of defrostex fiber increases,the breaking strength of the blended yarn decreases,the friction coefficient and the hairiness decreases.The moisture absorption and release performance of the fabric increases,the water absorption becomes better,and the air permeability decreases.
