With the continuous development of the economy of our country, people’s living quality standards improved to a large degree, people are not only keep a watchful eye on the quality, but also pay more attention on the quantity.Food safety problem has attracted much attention. In recent years, the food safety problems are frequently happened in China, it brings inconvenient even damage, food safety situation is not optimistic. Under this special period, the importance of food safety education is increasing, it not only can improve consumer’s ability to differentiate food safety problems, but also related to whether the whole food industry can be healthy, sustainable development. Therefore, to know the development of food safety education and residents’demand for food safety education, it is of great significance, to promote the development of China’s food safety problem.First of all, This article reviews the literature of the food safety, food safety education, and behavior of consumers, it defines the concepts of food safety and food safety education, it consist of the residents’ behavior about the knowledge of the food safety, information dissemination, the influencing factors of residents behavior theory, at the same time, it set up the framework for empirical analysis about urban residents’demand for food safety education. Then put off the questionnaire investigation to collect the urban residents’ data, using software SPSS 13.0 for further analysis, elaborated the demand for food safety education and its influencing factors.The research results show that the food safety education has got the attention of the residents, and they also really want to accept education to improve the knowledge level of consciousness; according to the results of the econometric regression model, residents food safety knowledge reserves is influenced by such factors, age of residents, residents’ gender, education level of residents, residents’ income, family size and living environment. Finally, based on the investigation results on a series of suggested policy:food safety education would be codified in the compulsory education to improve students’ level of food safety knowledge, make the students master the knowledge of scientific theory. Through the curriculum integration, make food safety education in different phases of education have different characteristics, targeted education for students of different ages; Improved practitioners apply certificate, put an end to a card to the current situation of the general. Optimize China’s food safety industry practitioners, refine each link of the food safety industry practitioners of applicability, professional workers in different link should have different professional ability, to ensure the food safety industry each link more optimization; The government led by increasing capital investment, enterprise cooperation founded various food safety education activities. The education activities can be carried out, to enrich People’s Daily life, improve the level of food safety knowledge; We will improve the mechanism of food safety and the existing laws, strengthen the evaluation and supervision. Regularly carries on the inspection to the employees, are not eligible for criticism education, serious need to crack down on, stop the production and business operation behavior, make workers, as well as the production manager will not have the chance to make unsafe food, fundamentally solve the problem of food safety..
