Skirt Design For Chinese Female With H Shape Based On Decoration

Dressing ranks the first among the basic necessities like food, dressing, housing and transportation. Along with the development of the age, to be beauty and to meet the demands of different levels, professions and occasions have become the real requirements instead of keeping warm. Chinese female has large population with diverse shapes, while this study focuses on the characteristics of the shape H, based on which to commence the skirt design with decoration.Since the shape H is short of femininity, up to now, there is no solid theoretical basis for the decoration of the skirt for shape H. Of this particular interest, herein, a set of design methods have been worked out regarding the decoration of the skirt for shape H by literature review, relevant data reduction and summary, case analysis, practice and effect comparison.This study selected the females with typical H characteristics as the objectives, deployed the design methods including the design elements like components, cut-off rules, silhouettes, colors, patterns and plus materials to establish a full set of skirt design system for the decoration of females with H shape. Four design approaches such as center shifting, emphasis, reverse thinking and integrated application were developed. The innovation of this study is to put an end to the current situation where no theories and rules were available. The proposed design approaches herein enriched the costume designing theories and were of special reference value to the skirt design of females with H shapes. Therefore, this study has definite theoretical and application values in the domain of garments industry.
