Tunneling trolleys of Boomer series made by Atlas Copco in Sweden have much good performance, and many mine enterprises has adopted them. Because of long-playing, high strength, full load and other questions, some non-expendable structural parts of these trolleys often brake down. The propulsion compensation crank arm is one of key components. It influences the work directly.In this dissertation, the propulsion compensation crank arm of tunneling trolley BOOMER281 was selected as research object.3D model of crank arm was built, and structural strength of crank arm was analyzed by ANSYS, then fatigue life was forecasted. Therefore, the concrete solution for crank arm reliability maintenance was presented, and the practicability of this solution was proved through maintenance examples.The main thesis work is as follows:(1) The crank arm structure static analysis, find out the dangerous section of the crank arm.(2)Based on 3D model, the boundary conditions of crank arm were studied. And according to the finite element strength analysis method, the stress-strain was calculated and the major factors of rupture failure for crank arm were gained.(3)Based on strength calculation of crank arm, the fatigue life of crank arm was calculated and simulated. The average fatigue life was forecasted under alternating mechanical load conditions.(4)The safety maintenance of crank arm was researched, and feasibility solutions for crank arm repair were studied. According to this research, a set of maintenance solution was proposed. And long-term test verified practical feasibility of this solution.
