Municipal Solid Waste(MSW) landfills are widely used as a convenient services in MSW processing to protect the city’s environment. When the landfill capacity meet its design upper limit,it needs to implement the project closure. Ensuring the landfill stable and harmless is critical. Scientific and rational closure measures have been formulated for the closure.However, the unreasonable design and irregular operations tend to affect the stability of the landfill, causing environmental pollution problems in the process of construction of the landfill closure. As a consequence, effective methods for the evaluation of the closure are necessary to develop.Evaluation for the environment and ecology were studied in landfill closure at Xia Shi Gou landfill, Shijiazhuang. Evaluation focused on major environmental problems,evolution and potential risks that may pose to humans.According to the analysis, 10 factors were selected as representative of the evaluation, using AHP to evaluate the index weight.And a fuzzy comprehensive environmental impact assessment model was established and optimized. A satisfactory evaluation results of the Xia Shi Gou landfill confirmed the potential of the methods in applications.MSW landfill can restore a woodland forest, grass, field or garden ecosystem-based urban ecosystem, even as building land use. Different restoration direction was analyzed and discussed, Xia Shi Gou landfill, for example, and ecological restoration measures were put forward to provide a reference for post-closure plan.
