Land is one of the important foundations of human society and economic development. The research on the characteristics and rules of land use and cover change is the basic task of all human activities. Especially in recent years, accelerating the urbanization process in China triggered a series of social and ecological problems, such as the waste of land resources, the deterioration of ecological environment, the contradiction between people and land, which put forward higher requirements in the sustainable development of human beings. Therefore understand land use change/cover of law is not only of Significance to strengthen the coordination and guidance role in land use planning, land use patterns and promote change management, but also important for integrating and coordinating social and economic development, land use and the protection of cultivated land ecological environment.Under this background, this paper summarizes the research progress of land use/cover at home and abroad, and puts forward the purpose and significance of the study. Then clear the main content of the research, and put forward scientific and reasonable research methods. This paper is based on IDRISI software platform, the CA Markov model is used as the land use change simulation and prediction model, according to the 2009 to 2013 Mangshi’s land use change survey data, the author make a macro analysis of Mangshi’s land use change mainly from number, extent and structure. On this basis, then relying on ArcGIS software, these effects as a result of the main driving factors are analyzed and summarized from the land and use, The resulting variation for access to various types of land use restriction Atlas premise, finally determined the models with the rest of the parameters for running CA Markov model, after running CA-Markov model on the status of land use change Mangshi simulation prediction in 2017, evaluation results show that the accuracy of the model is feasible. This can not only provide help in the future for Mangshi land department decision-making formulation, policy implementation provide scientific basis, also widened the CA Markov model in small scale land use change in the study to a certain extent.
