An investigation on the the algae was made in Yantai coastal zone including Chijia,Yangma Island and the second beach. Among them Chijia and Yangma Island were artificial shoreline, the second beach was natural shoreline which served as a contrast to artificial shoreline researched the effects of artificial shoreline on algae. The samples were collected by quantitative and qualitative approaches in June 2014,September 2014 and December 2014 representing the summer, autumn and winter respectively. The biomass was calculated after the species identification was finished by morphologic method and molecular method. According to statistics, there were267 herbarium specimens, and was authenticated to have 68 species classified as 25 families,38 genera. Among them, there were 45 kinds of red algae, 12 kinds of brown algae and 11 kinds of green alga accountig for 66.18%, 17.65% and 16.17%respectively. The algae on the second beach were 37 species accountig for 82.2%, and on Chijia shoreline were 21 species and Yangma Island were 27 species accountig for46.7%, 60% respectively. That was to say the diversity of algae species were the second beach >Yangma Island >Chijia. By calculated the algae biomass on artificial and natural shoreline respectively showed that the biomass was diversity during different seasons. However, the tendencys of biomass change with the seasons were consistent on the two type shoreline. In other words, the biomass in summer > in autumn > in winter. The experimental results showed that artificial shoreline had a large influence on algae. The result was consistent with Feng Tianwei’s finding that artificial shoreline reduced the algae diversity and biomass within a short time. However, in view of the Chapman’ experiment which found that the shoreline with germplasm source could drive the species breeding and recovery in nearby waters. These would reduce or release the effect of artificial shoreline on algae if time was long enough. Therefore, the hybrid shoreline and living shoreline had important significance in reduce effect of artificial shoreline on algae. As a result, during the shoreline development in the future, we could consider the value of these two types of shoreline and promote the ecological balance.Through the analysis of the ITS and rbc L sequence of Ulva linza and constructed NJ systematic tree, showed that Ulva linza of Yantai and Enteromorpha and Ulva. of other place grouped to LPP taxa and had high similarity.
