Analysis Of MtDNA Genetic Analysis Of Ancient Residents In Sunjiazhai, Qinghai Datong

Ancient DNA methodology, especially mitochondrial DNA, has.been used to retrieve genetic information from historic and prehistoric material in order to uncover population history or identify specimens. Today, using modern molecular biological technology, it is possible for ancient DNA to offer important clues for the knowledge of ancient inhabitant about their origins, genetic structures and relationships with contemporary Chinese.According to acknowledged authority of ancient DNA study, we achieved ancient DNA data from the graveyard of Shangsunjiazhai in Datong of Qinhai Province in two different periods. The results suggest that during the period of the Kayue Culture, ancient citizens there might have been migrating towards the southwest, and become one of the common ancestors of the minority ethnic groups in Southwestern China, while the people of Shangsunjiazhai in Han Dynasty became the ancestor of modern Han Chinese.
