Firstly, this paper does the comparative introduction of the natural general conditions and economic conditions between the north and the south of Jiangsu Province, analyzes the economic gap between the south and the north, illustrates the specific reasons of forming this gap from two aspects of historical and geographical factors and which leads to many aspects such as culture and policy, then it concludes the real economic basis of the regional economic cooperation; Secondly, it analyzes the present situation of the regional economic cooperation:the first is that the provincial government has established a large number of regional development policies to promote the regional economic cooperation which provides policy guarantee; The second is introducing the specific measures have been taken from many aspects such as the infrastructure construction,"the four transfer" consists of industry, finance, science and technology, labor, the co-building Northern Jiangsu development zone between the north and the south; Afterwards, this paper analyzes the effect of the economic cooperation and analyzes the economic gain of two sides especially economic results of Northern Jiangsu using some main economic index since the north-south economic cooperation; At last, this paper analyzes the main problems existing in the north-south economic cooperation, analyzing the main problems from the provincial government policy, Southern Jiangsu and Northern Jiangsu region and the co-building parks, the it provides some policy Suggestions in some respects like perfecting the mechanism of regional economic cooperation, the provincial government formulating more flexible supportive policies, the Southern Jiangsu area upgrading the industrial structure, the Northern Jiangsu area enhancing the capacity of carrying on industry transfer, improving the spillover effects of co-building parks to facilitate the regional economic cooperation smoothly.
