The paper puts forward Smart CityDevelopment Index for our smart city development level comprehensivemeasure, and from the "smart infrastructure","smart application","smartindustry","smart governance","wisdom protection force" five angles buildChina smart city development index evaluation system under the guidance ofnormative theory and system scientific method. and the article applies statisticalmethods to smart city development index and sub-index of50cities and urbanareas is pared and evaluated cluster analysis, On this basis, it builds a set ofsmart city Classification Evaluation Model of China through the correlationanalysis and quadrant method, and with the reference of the model, it givesdevelopment patterns and strategy of different types of smart cities.Study shows that: Smart cities construction involves all aspects of citydevelopment, to evaluate the development level of smart city, we should fullyreflect the overall level and the strengths and weaknesses of smart city.
