“It is a strategic choice of solution to the future energy supply to develop thenuclear power safely and efficiently”. Nuclear power has become the main forceand the future developing direction of the world’s energy. With the advent of the eraof knowledge economy, knowledge is increasingly becoming an important factor ofproduction. knowledge management has been applied to all kinds of aspects, such associal activities, enterprises operation, engineering construction, etc, and it is moresuitable for complex project management activities for its high efficiency. However, the project management of nuclear power plant construction is very complex, including the high safety requirements, great investment, and long construction period. Therefore, it is of great importance to introduce knowledge management into nuclearpower plant construction. The literature shows that a lot of researches have been doneat home and abroad on theories and methods of knowledge management andknowledge management performance, but rarely on the specific knowledgemanagement and knowledge management performance of the nuclear power plantconstruction projects. This paper mainly uses literature analysis, questionnaire survey method, analytic hierarchy process and positive law to make a research on knowledgemanagement performance valuation and countermeasure from the perspective of thenuclear power plant construction project management. First, it expounds theconnotation of the concept of knowledge and knowledge management, performanceand knowledge management performance and other related concepts, and it analyzesitem feature and management mode of nuclear power plant construction project. What’s more, it dissects the main contents during the whole process of project management from the four aspects of knowledge acquisition and organization, knowledge sharing, knowledge application, and knowledge innovation. Then itanalyzes major factors which influence knowledge management performance ofnuclear power plant construction engineering project, builds performance evaluationindicator system for knowledge management of nuclear power plant constructionengineering project, and evaluates knowledge management performance by usinganalytic hierarchy process; Finally, based on the assessment of the situation andpositive law, it confirms some measures to improve the knowledge managementperformance of nuclear power plant construction project, and explores the maximumperformance of knowledge management in nuclear power plant construction project. Conclusions are as follows:(1) knowledge management is a high-levelmanagement which is suitable for complex project management, and nuclear powerplant construction projects is large and complicated, so the introduction of knowledgemanagement is both necessary and practicable.(2) The factors that influence theperformance improvement of nuclear power plant construction project managementmainly are organizational structure, human resources, project culture, knowledgesharing environment, information management systems, as well as external relations, among which cultural construction, human resources and organizational structure arethe major factors.(3) The improvement of nuclear power plant construction projectperformance lies in following aspects. First, enhance cultural development, and createa good environment for knowledge sharing; Second, strengthen human resourcesmanagement, and improve the overall quality of staffs; Third, flatten organizationalstructure and implement flexible management; Fourth, perfect knowledge informationsystems, and improve the level of information technology support; Fifth, elevate therelationship with foreign countries, and enhance the overall image.
