Analysis Of The Utilization Of Foreign Direct Investment In Hebei Province

China has become the world’s second largest country to absorb Foreign DirectInvestment (FDI) in today’s increasingly integrated global economy. It is the attraction andefficient utilization of FDI that plays a crucial role in the development of our country. As weall know, Hebei Province is a coastal province in the east of China and it has been sixth inChina’s GDP ranking in recent years. However, there exists a series of problems in usingforeign direct investment in Hebei province.This thesis made theoretical and empirical analysis on foreign direct investment in Hebeiprovince. It introduced the distribution of FDI in Hebei Province from four aspects: differentcities, industries and sectors, the source of funding and mode of using FDI on the basis ofcollecting and arranging large amounts of data. At the same time, this thesis used SWOTanalysis and from the analysis, it concluded that the utilization of FDI in Hebei province hasmuch strengths, but the weaknesses are also obvious and there are more opportunities thanthreats in Hebei. The thesis concluded the problem in the utilization of FDI in Hebei province.The problem included that leading industry can not combined with foreign investmentstructure very well, low openness, weak economic foundation,"polarization effect" and FDIhas gap compared with other provinces in amount, the quality of FDI is not high, imbalancesin the distribution in industries, and exists lots of exclusively foreign-owned enterprises andso on. This thesis put forward some suggestions and countermeasures for Hebei province tosolve these problems.
