At present, there’re several problems in the provision of public goods in ruralareas of our country. To some extent, they have already restricted the furtherdevelopment of economy and society in rural areas. The improvement of it willcertainly help to realize coordinated development of the integration of urban and ruralareas. So the study on it has important theoretical and practical significance.First, this paper introduces the provision of public goods in rural areas of Sunansystematically. The conclusion is that the level of economic development there is highcomparatively. So is the level of the provision of public goods. But problems stillexist, such as the decision-making is not so democratic, and the execution lacks ofsupervision. In Huaxi Country’s case, it introduces the changes in the provision ofpublic goods there lately. It also reveals the related situation of transformation andreform and the influence to the provision of public goods. The conclusion is that thetransformation from agricultural community to industrial community accumulates thecapital for public goods with higher quality. It also changes the focus of the provisionfrom agriculture to the third industry.The result of the analysis shows that in some rural communities whoseeconomies develop well, public goods can be supplied efficiently. The fastdevelopment of economy and society strengthens the ability of the provision of publicgoods in rural areas and also the demand of the villagers. The importance of spiritualand cultural products cann’t be ignored. The influence which the transformation ofeconomy and society in rural areas brings to the provision of public goods is ratherprofound and far-reaching. The transformation from agricultural community toindustrial community changes not only the quantity of the provision of public goodsin rural areas, but also its structure. The non-agricultural transformation is theobjective demand and inevitable result of further development in rural areas.Through Huaxi Country’s case, this paper shows that in the decision-making ofthe provision of public goods in rural areas, the demand of villagers should beregarded. The provision should be demand-oriented. The order of priority has to beconsidered, and the reasonable supply structure should be determined according toactual situations. Improve the poly-centricity provision system, and keep thegovernment’s dominant position. Improve the household register policy in rural areas,social security and other related policies. Push the rural transformation to advance andspeed up the pace of construction of urbanization.
