In April2011, China’s "12th Five-Year Plan" in news publishing industry determined the printing and duplicating industry as one of the five key development industries.The plan pointed out that in the end of the12th Five-Year China will become the second largest printing country and foster a number of international competitive printing companies. Both the seventh session of the Sixth Plenary Session of the meeting and18th National Congress pointed out that cultural industry should be the supporting industry of Chinese economy,we should promote the prosperity of cultural undertakings. As an important part of cultural industry, the printing industry has also ushered in an unprecedented opportunities for development. In2012, the total output value of the printing industry in China is close to the second largest country.China has become the big printing country. However, the overall level of the printing industry in China is not high enough,China is still not printing power. China has a number of printing companies, but the average scale is small. Only a handful of printing enterprises’technology and management levels are higher. Facing the good development opportunity, the printing enterprise must recognize their own core competence, cultivate and promote the core competence rapidly, then become the internationally competitive printing enterprises.Few researches was done in comprehensive study of the evaluation on the core competence of printing companies at home and abroad. The present study is most of the workers’interpretation of printing companies’core competence in different angles.They didn’t put forward a comprehensive concept of printing enterprises’ core and its evaluation methodology. From the ecological perspective, this article constructs the evaluation system of the printing company’s core competence and uses the measurement formula of ecological niche to evaluate the printing company’s core competence. This benefits the companies to recognize the influencing factors and the level of their core competencees.Based on these, this article puts forward some suggestions to raise the printing companies’core competence.So the printing companies can hold the opportunity to develop in the cultural popularity periods, and rise the influence in culture industry.
