Research On The Capability Maturity Model For ERP Implementation And Its Applications In A Enterprise

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems which combine most advanced management ideas and methods of management information systems become a core component of enterprise informationization and one of necessary means that improve their management level of enterprises in China. Implement ERP systems can bring multiple benefits to the enterprise, but most enterprises in China have often ended in failure on the process of enterprises implementing ERP systems. Therefore, expand to research on ERP implementation process and effectively improve ERP implement success rate for our enterprises became imperative.This paper emphasizes the process of ERP implementation. Based on the implementation of the ERP systems to refine the key factors, and determine the appropriate critical control points for different stages of the implementation phase. We try to bring the thinking mode of the project management maturity model (PM3) and the method of constructing evaluation system and its evaluation instruments into the research on the framework of enterprise’s ERP implementation project, and then building the concept of capability maturity and the ERP-CMM model. After that, we are using the ERP-CMM model apply to the capability maturity assessment for the A enterprise’s ERP implement process, we were finally drawn the capability maturity level results for this assessment. Additional, we should propose the methods and suggestions for the A enterprise’s SAP ERP system implementation. To ensure the implementation of this ERP project achieve maximum benefit under the time, cost and other conditions’constraints, we provide a protection to enhance manage and control the whole process of the A enterprise’s ERP implementation.
