| Rice has always been in a dominant position in the food production and consumption.The stand or fall of rice production status has an important impact on the development ofglobal economy, the stability of the whole society and food security in China. Henanprovince is not only the major base of grain production but also the major one of foodtransferred and sold of our country with good conditions for grain production. By2011therice production of Henan province reached4.745million tons and the rice planting areacame to638000hectares.There are two methods to improve the rice comprehensive production capacity ingeneral, one is the increase of the input factors of rice production, and another is the growthof total factor productivity of rice. This paper makes econometric analysis of input factorsduring the production of rice using Cobb-Douglas Function. And then we carried on thesystem analysis of the Total Factor Productivity of rice in Henan province by usingMalmquist index of DEA method. On the above base we proposed how to improve thecomprehensive production capacity of rice in Henan province stably and put forward thecountermeasures for sustainable rice production growth.Main research contents are as follows:The first chapter expounds the background and significance of this article selectedtopic, the literature review, research content, theoretical basis and research methods.The second Chapter: Analyze rice production development situation in China andHenan province and make a summary using the statistical data. Illustrate the layout, concentration and different parts situation of the rice production in Henan province. It isconcluded that rice production in Henan province at a disadvantage position and lesscompetitively by a competitive analysis with other provinces. Expanding production of ricein Henan province is the need to stabilize the total quantity of grain, the need of sustainabledevelopment of agriculture, the need to improve the status of comprehensive grainproduction of Henan province.The third chapter: Established the rice production in Henan province based onCobb-Douglas Function, and made econometric analysis about the increased conventionalproduction inputs in the rice yield growth in Henan province. Look from the calculatedresult, the growth of rice yield in Henan province is mainly dependent on machineryoperation and inputs of seed quantity. The labor input was wasted and chemical fertilizersand pesticides is excessive which should be moderately reduced the dosage.The fourth chapter: In this chapter we study the related effect on the Total FactorProductivity of rice and improvement of comprehensive production capacity of rice inHenan province. Calculate and decompose Total Factor Productivity of rice in Henanprovince using the Malmquist index of DEA method.Results showed that the Total Factor Productivity change and technological progresstrend is consistent. Technological progress and efficiency showed a trend of changes in theopposite direction. The volatility of technology change is strong, the efficiency changesgently, the range of the scale efficiency is greater than technology efficiency increase. Ricetechnology efficiency level is low due to the causes such as input redundancy and laborshould be as our key regulating object of improving efficiency, reducing its mass will makethe comprehensive technical efficiency of rice production improved significantly.Chapter5: Conclusion and suggestion. |
