The Research Of Interactive Development Between Logistics Industry And Manufacturing

Since the1980s, the industrial structure of western developed countries haschanged dramatically. The tertiary industry accounted for the proportion of the grossnational product more than the sum of the first and secondary industries, andcompleted the transformation of the industrial-based economy to service-orientedeconomy.Since China’s reform and opening up, China’s national economic growthrate can remain the world’s leading position, mainly depends on the industry,especially the rapid development of manufacturing. However, we should realizedChina’s manufacturing industry is in the low-end part of global value chain and it alsobrings a serious of problems such as lower productivity and irrational structure, whichdesperately need a new path to industrial transformation. Manufacturing and logisticsindustry respectively belong to the second industry and the third industry and they areinseparable on the way to the China’s new industrialization. The two industriesprovide production factors and service for each other, support each other and developtogether. Driving the interactive development of manufacturing and logistics industryis not only an important method to promote the core competitiveness of the twoindustries, but also a significant way to accelerate China’s economic growth modetransformation, as well as adjust and optimize industrial structures.In the process of study, this paper firstly uses literature study method to sort outrelevant documents domestic and foreign about producer services, Manufacturingand the interactive development of manufacturing and logistics industry; Secondly,this paper definite and describe the related concepts of modern logistics industry andmanufacturing. On the basis of the above study, this paper uses division of labor andtransaction cost theory, supply chain management theory, and cooperative gametheory from three different perspectives to analyzes the internal mechanisms of theinteractive development between them, which provide theoretical basis for subsequentanalysis. And then this paper combines describing and analyzing the currentdevelopment situation, existing problems and development tendency with the actualconditions of our country, to analyze the main restraining factors that influence theinteractive development of manufacturing and logistics industry from demand factor,supply factor and institutional factor. Furthermore, through using31provinces, citiesand autonomous regions’ panel data from2003to2010, this paper conducts anempirical analysis on the interactive development condition of manufacturing and logistics industry to prove their exiting interactive relationship. And at the presentstage, the development of manufacturing has more and greater influence on the outputof logistics industry, while the development of logistics industry is relatively lagsbehind, which drives the development of manufacturing limitedly. However, it alsomeans that the prospect of the logistics industry is bright and its potential to drive theinteractive development is huger. Finally, based on the research conclusions, thispaper put forward the policy suggestions to promote the long-term interactivedevelopment of logistics industry and manufacturing.
