At the same time, the urbanization of Hubei is faced with severe resource constraints, environmental pollution is serious, serious situation of degraded ecosystem, has great realistic significance to study of Hubei ecological development and urbanization.Some ecological problems existing in the process of Hubei urbanization, as the urbanization construction focus on economic development, neglect of social and environmental problems of eco towns; pay attention to large and medium-sized city metro construction, ignoring the coordinated development of small towns development and urban planning theory and methods; the lack of innovation, the lag of social and economic development. Therefore, this paper establishes the ecological urbanization evaluation index system, evaluation for Hubei ecological urbanization level, obtains the Hubei eco urbanization level is good, but there are some deficiencies in some indicators. That process of Hubei urbanization should be based on people’s urbanization as the key point, be sure to consider the city construction and population, environment, resources, industrial relations, hold to from set out actually, to optimize the overall city ecological environment as the starting point and destination, with convenient, harmonious, livable, low carbon as the goal, always follow the ecological friendly, resource conservation theme, for urban sustainable development, scientific development, intensive and high efficiency, perfect function, friendly environment, social harmony, distinct personality, the integration of urban and rural, small city and the coordinated development of small towns ecological town road. In the path choice, the construction should be based on the city circle and urban zone construction as the key point, to strengthen the ecological urban agglomeration and diffusion capacity; to infrastructure and environmental governance as the carrier, the carrying capacity of ecological urban in ascension; the "four modernizations" synchronization engine, enhance the Ecological Urbanization inside vivid force; ecological civilization construction as an opportunity, to enhance the ecological urban construction and sustainable development ability. In order to guarantee the smooth path, ecological cities and towns in Hubei should be in the ecological mechanism, incentive mechanism, the social construction of green credit mechanism and public participation mechanism of corresponding system arrangement.
