Research On Rural Food Safety Supervision

At present, the issues of food safety get more and more attention of governments at all levels.Compared with the urban food safety regulatory system, the regulatory of food safety in rural areas hasjust started and the regulatory work is to be improved. The countryside is a weak area of food safetymanagement and accident-prone area. Frequent food safety issues incidents increase the impact in therural areas and arouse the attention of rural residents. So the rural areas are the important factor for thefull food safety supervision. It can be said that no food safety in rural areas, no the full country’s foodsafety. Improving the food safety in rural areas and protecting the farmers’ physical and mental healthrelated to economic development and overall situation of building a harmonious society. Strengthenfood safety supervision in rural areas is of great significance. At present, the academic communitymostly research on a macro perspective. Research on local government and rural areas is not so many.Therefore, this paper will provide some suggestions on supervision in rural areas from microperspective based on investigation in Lin an rural areas and learning from developed countries’outstanding regulatory experience.This article mainly discusses from the following levels. First the article introduces China’s foodsafety regulatory conditions and problems, and then introduces the developed countries’ good regulatoryexperience, and then analyzes the rural food safety supervision by the investigation. Finally, the articleprovides some suggestions to improve the rural food safety supervision according to the problems.How to improve the regulation of food security in rural areas is a long-term process, this paperprovides some suggestions based on the survey and experiences: establish rural food safety regulatoryagencies; establish modern rural food circulation network; improve food safety regulations andstandards; improve the credit system and risk warning system; strengthen publicity and education;improving the food recall system and govern restaurant and rural feast, I hope these suggestions canhelp the improvement of food safety supervision in rural areas.
