Study On The Adjustment Of Industrial Structure And The Choice Of Leading Industry Of Urumqi City

Fast, stable and healthy development of economy never leave a reasonableindustrial structure, the continuous improvement of the industrial structure promotesthe rapid development of economy. This improvement of industrial structure built ona detailed and reasonable analysis. In this paper, on the basis of the literature reviewand survey, carries out theory research and scientific analysis to industrial structure ofUrumqi. Urumqi industrial structure research is spread through the following threeanalytical methods that the Degree of alteration (the degree of change of industrialstructure), the degree of deviation (one of the particular effective method to inspectindustrial structure) and Shift-share analysis (SSA). Summed up the most obviousproblem in the industrial structure of Urumqi.Urumqi, Xinjiang is not only the most important and the largest integratedproduction base, but China’s west connection channel and important exit ofinternational economic-trade, the strategic position has a great advantage as well. SoUrumqi’s optimization of industrial structure and the city’s rapid economicdevelopment play a significant role on whole region and country. Proceed from thecurrent situation of Urumqi’s economic development, applying theories and methodsof regional economic research, Urumqi industrial structure has been studied, and theresults of the analysis are given a certain amount of adjustment measures andrecommendations.By the Urumqi industrial structure analysis,author accounts,since the reformand opening up the industrial structure of Urumqi has turn towards conversion of themature stage of industrialization.Urumqi not only has the regional structure of a ‘bigcity, a small suburb’,but also limiting factor in the development of the firstindustry,therefore, the output value of the proportion of GDP is less than2%.Can beused as a political, economic and cultural center of Xinjiang, secondary and tertiaryindustries highly aggregated, and has a relatively high degree of socialization andindustrialization.Urumqi is the tertiary industry the most developed city inXinjiang,the proportion of tertiary industry in GDP of up to61.68%in2000,so, inconjunction with the Urumqi’s regional situation conducting adjustment,can beachieved to improve and upgrade the industrial structure purpose.To Urumqi current characteristics of the industrial structure as a startingpoint,use of scientific knowledge and research methods in this paper to establishevaluation index system of regional leading industries,the use of regional entropymethod and empirical research, industry comparison, filter out the dominant industryin Urumqi.trough analysis,this article screened the following industry as the leadingindustry in the next period of time in Urumqi, such as the transportation and warehousing industry, construction, wholesale and retail trade, catering and otherservices.the conclusions of this study is consistent with the basic conditions of thesocio-economic development of Urumqi, has an Excellent objectivity and reality.
