In most Developing countries their capability to face economic challenges dependsmuch on the stage of the development of the SMEs. The SMEs competitiveness inTanzania faces various numbers of constraints that hinder their success in both localand international markets. This research paper was formed with main intention offinding out the major constrains that affect the enterprises competitiveness inTanzania, and those factors that prevent enterprises from evaluate their performancesvery promptly. And another main goal was to look out for the ways that will helpenterprises in their daily performances. On the way conducting this research manyways of evaluating the performances were discussed, those involves financialmeasures and those with non financial measures along side with their merits anddemerits, in which enterprises will be aware on implementing them in their systems.However this research paper used financial ratios to analyze one of the leadingcompanies in Tanzania.Despite the fact that the analyzed company had a good performance and has provedis a promising one in terms of its operation activities, but the findings of this paperstrongly suggests much effort and pressure must be put to influence SMEs in Tanzaniameasure their performances. On the other hand government plays a major role tohinder the SMEs performances as the country still experiencing poor economicconditions, poor infrastructure and low level of technology. Hence it s time for thegovernment and the enterprises to join hands, to look for better opportunities that willhelp enterprises to improve their performances, and be able to compete intointernational markets.
