Since the reform and opening up, the agricultural export trade has developed rapidly in China. At the same time, farmers’income level has also been significantly improved. However, due to various reasons, the income gap between urban and rural areas is gradually expanding. Therefore, promoting the increase of farmers’income and narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas are still the main issues for China’s rural work at this stage. In recent years, farmers’income increases dramatically led by developing agricultural export trade in Shandong Province, which to some content has played an exemplary role in promoting farmers’income for other regions of our country. Therefore, studying the effect of agricultural export trade on the farmers’income in Shandong Province and exploring its successful experience, has a very important significance for other regions of our country in developing agriculture as well as raising the level of farmers’income.Based on this, this paper starts from the theoretical basis of the agricultural export trade and farmers’income, combing respectively the mechanism of agricultural export trade for farmers’income under the general trade and processing trade. In addition, through using the co-integration and error correction model, this paper studies the impact of agricultural export trade on farmers’income under different trade patterns in Shandong Province. The results show agricultural exports of processing trade plays the most significant role in promoting farmers’income. Finally, this paper summarizes the successful experience in Shandong Province and points out the significance to other regions of our country.In short, this paper studies the impact of agricultural export trade on farmers’income under the general trade and processing trade in Shandong Province. In this paper, the research content and the research perspective are two innovations. It also supplies guidance recommendations in establishing a long-term mechanism of increasing farmers’income for other regions of our country.
