With the gradual perfection of modern information technology, the rapid development of global transportation industry and the continuous globalization of the world economy, logistics has become "the third profit source" of the developed countries like the United States and Japan, which plays an important role in supporting and promoting the growth of the national economy. With respect to developing countries, modern logistics industry has already become one of the urban industries with the largest development potential.In2010, Shenzhen was approved to establish a comprehensive pilot reform of the national service, to build a modern service industry cooperation area in the front sea and the deep harbor and to construct an industrial system with service industries concentrated. Based on this background, research of the development of modern logistics industry in Shenzhen is a topic worth exploring, which has a strong practical significance.The thesis first draws the experience of the development of domestic and international logistics, and then analyzes the current situation of the development of modern logistics industry in Shenzhen, and makes a medium-and long-term forecast of the logistics needs. The thesis advances the strategic conception of the sustainable development of modern logistics industry in Shenzhen under the guidance of the sustainable development theory. They are as follows:to open up a green logistics mode, to create high-end format dominated by logistics industry, and basically to build Shenzhen to be an excellent nationwide logistics service city with the functions of industry support and public services, a global logistics hub with the functions of international resource allocations and international business operations, an important center of multimodal transportation and supply chain management in the Asia-Pacific region, and to build an international shipping center with Hong Kong. Lastly, the thesis puts forward some policy measures on the four levels of strengthening the functions of government services, improving the management of the logistics industry, guiding the development of logistics enterprises and enhancing public awareness of environmental protection. And the government should carry out these measures with the support of public information platform, regulate the market developing environment and guarantee the strategies to be implemented comprehensively.
