Research On Territorial Resources Carrying Capacity And Ecological Capacity Of Wuhan Metropolitan Area

Resources is the basis of human society. China has made significant progress in nearly30years, which typical western countries achieved using a few hundred years, through industralization and urbanization since it’s reform and opening policy. Meanwhile, the problems of population booming, resources shortage, environmental pollution have been more and more series. The main concern of urbanization is to improve the quality in the next few decades. Therefore, it’s necessary to make research on resources carrying capacity and ecological capacity.Territorial resources include natural resources, social resources and economical resources generally. And among them, natural resources is the foundation of the other two. It consists of land resources, water resources, forest resources, mineral resources and tourism resources. To evaluate the territorial resources carrying capacity, we have to consider comprehensively based on natural resources. This thesis, which mainly study on resources carrying capacity and ecological capacity, is comprised of several parts below:The first part:it analyse background, purpose and methods of this article, thus makes a research route. And then it makes a review on the relative previous studies.The second part:firstly analyse the current utilization of natural resources, and then make a evaluation on the natural resources carrying capacity, which conclude that the resources carrying capacity of Wuhan metropolitan area belongs to the medium level. After that, we compare resources carrying capacity to that of Hubei province and the whole country scale and find the resources carrying capacity of most cities in Wuhan metropolitian area are overloaded.The third part:Based on the Ecological Footprint model, the article calculates and analyzes the ecological footprint, the ecological capacity and the ecological deficit.The last part:the article makes some suggestions based on the results have got.
