Tourism has become a popular global leisure activity, of which cultural tourism was one of the most important. Religious cultural tourism has become an important part of cultural tourism. Some scholars have annotated the image of the tourists in their travel experience from the perspective of identity recognition. Their results showed that identity recognition is mainly composed of tourism destinations, culture attraction, tourist role and identification. Different types of Identity revealed the unique travel experience value. Identification of the cultural benefits affected the experience and quality of travel the impression of tourist attractions, and the choice of tourism destination. Research on travel experience from the perspective of tourist cultural identity can not only enrich tourism identity and related theory scale, but also provide the recommendations for cultural identification improvement of travel spots and business strategy of cultural tourism scenic attractions, resulting in sustainable cultural tourism industry.With Wuxi Lingshan Buddha scenic spot as our case study, exploratory factor analysis was used to analyze the dominant impact factors of Buddhist cultural identity. Based on structural equation model, dynamic process and the extent of impact was established. Finally, the practical role of Buddhist cultural identity on religious culture tourism experience was imitated and tested.In our study, tourist’s identity is divided into three types, material culture, behavior culture and Buddhist value. Travel experience is composed of space culture and function. Our study results showed that tourists’identity to Buddhist material cultural plays a positive role in the quality of spatial and cultural experience at Lingshan scenic spot and has no significant influence on the quality of function experience (e.g. service, entertainment, accommodation, leisure). Tourists’identity to behaviors of Buddhism culture has no obvious effect on the travel experience quality. Tourists’ identity to Buddhist values shows a positive effect on the quality of functional and cultural experience and has no obvious impact on spatial experience.Based on the establishment and analysis of identity-experience structural equatbn model, specific strategies for displaying scenic characteristics, enhancing scenic spot connotation and integrating scenic resources were put forward in order to find a suitable scenic development mode.
