With China reforming and opening to the outside world and the fast development of economics, the competition of China hospitality industry is getting much fiercer. When there is sufficient finance supporting, the hardware is very easy to be copied, which cannot be the core strengths. On the other hand, differentiation service and experience are the keys to win the competition. Service is considered as a kind of special product, which is sold by people contacting. Therefore employee regarding as the software is playing an important role. Hospitality industry is facing much challenge now, such as easy entering, high turnover, and lack of manpower. Hotel management team is coming to realize that training is a powerful tool to increase the labor productivity and improve the service quality. The importance of training function is becoming undisputed.The purpose of hotel training is to let employee equip with sufficient skills and knowledge, then they can have competencies to finish their job, and help with their further development. However during hotel daily operations, training is easily regarded as delivering and conveying in the class without a comprehensive recognizing for the whole training process and training effectiveness, which finally results the inefficient training.This article will study and propose the strategies of improving the training effectiveness by analyzing the current training status of SM hotel. The paper includes six sections. The first section is Introduction, which introduce the studying background, meaning, content, method, etc. The second part will explain the theories citing, including Double-loop Theory, Systemic Training Theory and Kirkpatrick’s Learning and Training Evaluation Theory. The third section summarized the reasons that result in the inefficient training. Through the above analysis, the five part will propose the strategies of improving training effectiveness, which contain the scientific tools to confirm training needs, the principle and method of course design, Angel trainer team building-up, the supporting from hotel policy and management system, and the program for post training evaluation and performance improvement. The last section is solution and conclusion.
