China and New ASEAN members have long-term economic relationship. They have geographic advantage and same cultural. For a long time, the proportion of China’s direct investment in New ASEAN members is not very large. With the signing of the China-ASEAN Investment Agreement in2007and the foundation of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area in2010, China’s direct investment in New ASEAN members will further expand. Due to a certain gap between New ASEAN members’ economy and China, there is an urgent need for the development of New ASEAN members’national economy by attracting foreign investment. Now China faces the problem of scarce resources and some industry exists overcapacity. Investing in New ASEAN members can to a certain extent alleviate the problems of our country’s resources. In addition, it can transfer China’s sunset industries, as well as promote the efficient allocation of resources in both sides. In this paper, on the basis of previous studies, do some further research on the investment in New ASEAN members. This paper firstly describes the situation of China’s direct investment in New ASEAN members, analyzes the existing problems in the process of investment. Secondly, by using the combination of theoretical and empirical methods to analyze factors affect on China’s direct investment in New ASEAN members. Do some qualitative analysis and correlation analysis. Last, according to the problems, this article proposes some advices in the future development China’s direct investment in New ASEAN members.Such as enhance the awareness of investment in New ASEAN members,pay attention to environmental protection, diversified the field of investment, enterprises should improve the ability to resist risk prevention, the country should broaden the financing channels for SMEs.
