China-ASEAN Relationship And Its Expansion Based On ASEAN Regionalism

Since the end of the Cold War,the relationship between China and ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) has undergone significant changes.Though friction and even conflict often occur,the cooperation on the whole has been deepened and broadened due to the active participation of member countries,thus hinging about a general promotion of the close and overall cooperation in politics,economics, culture and security between China and the ASEAN.The cooperation between China and ASEAN also takes an important position for ASEAN regionalism development,all the co-working,which is driven by ASEAN on various fields,could not be proceed successfully without China' s support.On the one hand,the cooperation itself between China and ASEAN has been as a very important part of the regionalism development. On the other hand,as a powerful lever,the cooperation between the two parties drives ASEAN regionalism to achieve their own objective.The process of China-ASEAN cooperation accompanies and pushes the process of East Asia-ASEAN cooperation.In some way,East Asia-ASEAN cooperation reflects that the countries of this region are developing region-unifying in order to get more common profit.There is still a way for East Asia-ASEAN cooperation to go.The desire and initiative of the major countries from East Asia(such as China,Japan,Korea) means a lot to the developing and exploring of East Asia-ASEAN cooperation.The development and benefits for both East Asia-ASEAN cooperation and China could not keep on going smoothly without each other's efforts and supports.China should take the advantage of this stage,constructing a rational regional strategy to protect its own benefits farthest.
