China is the biggest aquatic product import and export country in the world. With many years development, Qingdao became the most important city of Aquatic product import and export as well as processing trade base in China. The characters of Qingdao aquatic trade is at high level of processing and quality, in big scale of processing trade, with big market share in developed countries.However, existing experience and fact shows that low-cost labor and resources is not a sustainable motivation to trade development. The development of Qingdao aquatic product trade is facing great challenges, including the economic downturn from2008global crisis, the labor cost increasing, the appreciation of RMB, the focus on foodstuff safety, more and more technology and trade barrier, etc.The paper adopts SWOT analysis, diamond model, theory of industry cluster to analyze the strength and weakness, opportunity and threat of Qingdao aquatic product trade, and to give out countermeasures and suggestions to a sustainable development of Qingdao aquatic product trade. To the enterprise engaged in aquatic product trade, should improve the level of mechanization and automation, pay attention to cultivate internal senior production elements, choose the proper strategy according to its conditions. To the government, should devote to improve the industry cluster, to build an open and fair market environment enabling the aquatic trade enterprises to compete legally and freely in the market, and to increase the consumer income level and quality. Based on comprehensively using of the related theories, the paper also adopts collective mass of data and cases. With the strong research base, by using comparative analysis, inductive and deductive method, the paper realizes a well combination of theory and practice.
