With the development of the manufacturing industry, many of our large equipme nt manufacturings have made a lot of achievements with considerable economic bene fits for the enterprises by ergonomics and IE concept. Ergonomics is one of the core research areas of industrial engineering. It is the study of various factors of anatomy, physiology and psychology people have in some kind of work environment; relationship among man, machine and the environment; how to comprehensively con sider work efficiency, discipline issues such as health, safety and comfort in work, family life and leisure time.This thesis studies the improvements among man, machine and the environment, mainly through the use of IE methods to improve the work efficiency of enterprises. The methods applied in this thesis are two IE technologies:method study and work measurement, for the benefits of rescheduling work on the unreasonable production processes and improving the methods of operation by improving on-site production processes. In the design and improvement of the work object, these methods could fully consider man, products and the co-ordinate and harmonious environment they are in; improve the working environment and work efficiency; meet the requirements of comfort and safe ty as far as possible in order to achieve the humane design idea of "people-oriented", effectively reduce costs and enhance efficiency under the requirements of little investment or no investment of production efficiency and also reduce and avoid some of the waste in the enterprise through the integration of personnel and equipment resources. Ergonomics becomes a hot topic of research in the field of industrial engineering especially in these days with strongly advocated humane, site improvement in enterprises and factories. Ergonomics in this thesis is mainly used in the on-site improvement to deeply study and explore the operation, the machine configuration and the improvement of the environment of the on-site production of GGA production workshops in JCI company.This thesis analyzes the object on the basis of the collection and reading of a lot of engineering books and literature on ergonomics. Aiming at the situations of low staff utilization but high cost of JCI, this research studies its man-machine configuration optimization problem with the GGA production area4#production line as the research object:first of all, using the5W2H method, Principle ECRSI and Principles of human engineering to analyze the operations in the production workshop and personnel operations in the processes of productions in hope of improving some adverse actions and productions with high labor intensity; secondly, analyzing the human-machine system in the production site by the application of the theories and methods of ergonomics:analyzing the utilization of staff and machine with the use of man-machine diagram, providing improvement solutions by using a stopwatch for timing and setting standard time after appraisal and liberalization, and analyzing the improved effects by the application of simulation and determining the rational allocation of the section of the man-machine with the use of Flexsim software simulation; finally, aiming at JCI-site production environmental and materials placing issues with the actual situation of the company, fully implementing8S-site management, proposing8S plans, analyzing and evaluating the effects of improvement by irregular inspection, rewards and punishment system.After improvement,research results show that JCI company reduce the work power, production cycle is shortened, utilization rate of the employees, equipment utilization has great promotion. Effectively reduce the production cost, reduced the scrap of finished and semi-finished production, greatly reduces the waste of raw materials. Workshop environment is clean and tidy, the company’s entire spirit has a great advance.
