Industrial engineering,which is the integration of management theory and projects,has been developed over a hundred years in foreign countries and has played a vital role for the rise of Western capitalist countries’early industry. With the progress of management thought and the improvement of the level of production,industrial engineering technology is advancing with the times.Under Under the increasingly fierce competition in the business environment,companies engaged in the production pay more attention on improving the efficiency and reduce costs and improve product quality,pay more attention to build flexible production lines. These business needs, ultimately resorting to rational use of industrial engineering techniques.Although social needs are diversified,improving the flexibility of the production capacity is not an overnight thing. How to make balance between achieving production efficiency, quality control, low product cost and properly meet the diverse needs,industrial engineering technology innovation face a new challenge.So even today, applied research in enterprises for industrial engineering technology is still a very effective and popular topic.This article is mainly to analyze the business on the production line to optimize production efficiency from the macro point of view.In this paper,we use the theory and techniques of industrial engineering to identify problems in the production line and propose improvement measures, We also used5S and other management techniques to improve the situation.The first part of the paper describes the IE research background and significance by using the relevant technology to improve production efficiency.The second part describes the advanced IE research, application and development of innovative trends.The production line of X-enterprise as an example as an example, we described its’status of the production line and used graphics on the production line to diagnosis the existing problems.Then IE theories and methods was applied to make recommendations for improvement in the aspects of layout, processes, operations, site management. So that enterprises could be expert in in various forms of production while reducing costs, but also to ensure the quality. We also assessed the effect of the improved.
