Tourism industry has become one of the pillar industries in our country. The travel agency industry is the core of the whole tourism industry and the key link of tourism industry chain, it is connected to the main carrier of tourism supply and tourism demand. Therefore, the development of the travel agency industry is related to the degree of development of the tourism industry. To understand the scale and spatial pattern of the development of the travel agency industry and to analyze and summarize the characteristics and main influencing factors can provide a scientific basis for optimizing integration and rational arrangement of travel agency industry, to help the government clearly understand present situation of development of travel agency industry, and to develop a plan for scientific development.Based on collecting and sorting of relevant statistical data, first of all, this paper introduced the general situation of our country travel agency development scale, and then analyzed travel agency industrial concentration. It used the charts to show the travel agency scale indicators for a comparative analysis, concluding the characteristic of the travel agency industry scale, deducing and analyzing its influencing factors. Secondly, on the basis of the analysis of travel agency scale, further, this study probed into the travel agency spatial pattern of our country. Four aspects, which were spatial distribution of overall level of development of the travel agency industry, relationship between the comprehensive evaluation value of the travel agency in the region and the regional tourism supply and demand, differences of the travel agency industry development between regions, and differences of single travel agency between regions, were analyzed for the spatial distribution of travel agencies; three indexes which were the number of travel agency companies, the number of employees, and operating income, were analyzed the spatial evolution of travel agencies; and with China Comfort Travel Group as an example, the study analyzed the location choice of spatial expansion of travel agencies. Through the analysis of static to dynamic mastered the spatial pattern of travel agencies in China, and concluded that characteristics and main influencing factors of travel agency spatial pattern in our country.The study result shows that travel agency industry in our country is lagging behind, and small-scale, the industry concentration tends to decline, these are closely related to the level division of labor system, institution and market environment; Due to the regional economic development level, the geographical location and the different advantages of development, considering the cost factors and the size of the market, travel agency industry in our country shows the characteristics which are the quite different spatial level of the development, the high degree of spatial agglomeration and the diversified development of various elements of travel agency.In order to promote the overall development of the travel agency industry, this paper presents the following recommendations:changing the division of labor; adjusting the industrial policy, strengthening the legal and social supervision; building a large travel agency groups; and strengthening the guidance and encouragement of the travel agency development in less developed regions.
