Facing the21stcentury, the trend of global economic and integrated supply chainis changing with a tendency to continuously go up, the competition is developing intofrom single company to the entire supply chain. More and more companies havespecific position of what its role is for core strategy, product and market share, whilecustomer needs becomes diversification and product life cycle is increasinglyshortened, and new technology and processes are frequently developed, it’s ofextreme importance for company or the industry to realize sustainable developmentwhile pursuing the maximum of profit. With the situation, the famous OEMs developsthe strategic contract manufacturer (EMS/ODM) and put their business to them asoutsourcing for supply chain and total cost optimization, shorten time-to-market, thejoint product development are being performed through the series act of ESI, projectmanagement, integrated information, material/capital/knowledge exchange etc, duringthese supplier selection and management is extremely worth researching about.The article primary studied present state of supplier selection and management,strategic supplier selection ways/action steps/factors, how to establish assessmentindicator system, assessment method and present state and outlook. Meanwhile, tocombine the practice of E Electronics Company on supplier selection andmanagement, researched supply chain design of product-oriented, supplier selectionand qualification during NPD, TCO and process validation, E company’s corestrategy of procurement, potential supplier identification and development, PSLoptimizing, Reverse Auction E-sourcing and other tools to continuously improvesupply chain total cost and make its goods more competitive.Moreover, aiming at the issues in the field of supplier selection andmanagement in the E company, the article introduced that E company’s managingpractice using in AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), ABC(Activity-based Costing),Project Plan Schedule Control, Quality Management Tools, Supplier’s ProductProcess Qualification, Supplier Development etc. become effective and efficient toresolve the said problem to balance between total cost of supply chain and customerrequirement, which will solidify and maintain leading position in the industry to go infor sustaining development.
