To develop green vegetable plant industry, two aspects should be taken seriously, which are, firstly, the basic fact that China has a large population and relatively little land, and secondly, rational use and plan of vegetable planting area matters, because it concerns the balance and steadiness of ecosystem, the supply of people’s basic needs, and contributes greatly to sustainable development. Therefore, rational use of land and scientific plan and management of land is the basis of vegetable industry and the powerful force for constant economic development in China. In this thesis, Yong Xing County as the research object, a land suitability evaluation based on all the arid land in the County is done with the Yong Xing’s present land-use map, administrative map, soil map and water conservancy zoning maps by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and GIS Spatial superposition analysis method. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)According to green vegetable land criteria, the suitable and general suitable land, which covers an area of2933.33hm2, are taken as green vegetable land. Part of it is in line with the present green vegetable base, which proves the rational and practical land plan of the research.(2)Based on the planting tradition, geographical and traffic conditions and the distribution of appropriate regions of Yongxing county, the pollution-free vegetables growing areas can be divide d into exports growing area, improved growing area and dispersed growing area, and for each area, there is a description of the zone’s development direction and plants growing there.(3)The plan can be a reference for designers, agricultural land planning department and environmental administration department.
