In recent years, smartphone is rapidly spreading on a global scale, and is playing an increasingly important role in people’s life, work, and study, with the high-speed development of the mobile communication technology and network. The popularity of smartphone brings convenience to people’s life. But at the same time, it also brings a variety of security threats. In the meantime, context-awareness technology and application have gradually penetrated into people’s life, and have got more and more widely used. For these reasons, researching on security management programs for smartphone and context-awareness technologies, in order to guarantee smartphone’s security, has very important practical meaning and application value.Firstly, this thesis introduces the related properties of smartphone, and provides a comprehensive analysis of security threats faced by smartphone. At the same time, the thesis not only includes an in-depth research of various protection techniques and current mainstream protection products, but also gives an overall analysis of their shortcomings. For instance, the functions provided by current protection techniques and products is relatively fragmental, didn’t consider the inherent limitations such as limited electricity, and didn’t take the new threats of smartphone into account.Secondly, in view of these shortcomings, this thesis analyses the system architecture of Android platform and security mechanisms provided by the operating system. Then on the basis of the system architecture and security mechanisms, it proposes a security management program for smartphone, which is based on context-awareness. Meanwhile, the thesis presents the concept of context, the methods of gathering, storing and reasoning smartphone’s contexts, and the design of architecture and core modules for security management program. This program applies the context-awareness concept into the management of smartphone, and enables the smartphone to turn on the related protection module intelligently though accessing and analyzing user context and system context.In the meantime, the program establishes a Markov chain model to predict user’s behaviors of using application, in order to implement the intelligent power saving function of the battery management and monitoring module. Therefore, this program can not only avoid battery exhaustion attacks and other security threats, but also save smartphone’s battery power and reduce the occupation quantity of the system resources. In a word, it is able to provide more comprehensive security for smartphone users. Finally, this thesis implements a prototype system of security management program for smartphone on the Android platform. It mainly introduces the process of building development platform and the concrete implementation method of each module, especially the context-aware module, the context-schedule module and the battery management and monitoring module. The running condition of the system demonstrates that the security management program for smartphone, which is based on context-awareness, has better performance in the aspects of the efficiency of resource utilization and safety management, and the characteristic of smartphone is fully considered. Therefore, the program is more in tune with the requirements of security management for smartphone in the mobile environment.
