As an important information resource transfer medium, campus network is an important platform for teaching, research and information-baced management. For the increasing campus network users and various applications, it is put forward higher requirements on the stability, security, and access speed of the network. It is the topology and configuration of the campus network export that affect the rate of users’ access to the public network and the stability of the network, directly. Therefore, strengthening the management and upgrading the campus network’s gateway have become very urgent.This paper analyzes the widespread problems in modern campus network’s gateway construction, taking Hebei University original network exit as the study project, studies the network building technology deeply, and gives a reasonable design. As the original design of the campus network exit has been unable to meet the demand for teaching and research, it is extremely needed to upgrade and reconstruct. Focuses on such aspects as routing design, network address translation design, DNS design, link load balancing design, intrusion prevention design, flow control design and so on. In the routing design, use the method combining static routing, policy-based routing and default route to solve the problem of data packet routing. In the design of network address translation, apply PAT technology on firewall and load balancing to solve the problem of private IP addresses and education network IP addresses to access the public education network.The two devices can converse IP address respectively, In the design of the Domain Name System, use DNS smart technology to realize intelligent domain names. In the design of link load balancing, the use of load balancing equipment can resolve access to different resources to select different exits. And in the design of flow control, http, email and other common services are guaranteed by bandwidth management and P2P download limitations, and managing the period of time at the same time.After the implementation of the design scheme described in the paper, the management of campus network exit has been greatly improved. Taking full advantage of education network and local ISP’s network resources to achieve multi-link load balancing traffic, enhance the access speed of the network, strengthen the stability and security of the campus network, in order to provide a good public network access platform for teachers and students.
