Prefecture-county integrated dispatching automation system makes the prefecture dispatching automation system and distributed systems in this region wide-area remotely inter-connected. This also realizes the sharing of data resources, technology resources and equipment resources. When using prefecture-county integrated system, the staff need to conduct collaborative modeling, achieve regional unified modeling and management through distributed modeling and splicing technology, and realize the sharing of grid model by model release service. The goal is "source maintenance, networking sharing". In fact, a strict approval process is required to ensure the correctness of the graphic files used for analysis, calculation, early warning, auxiliary decision, visual monitoring, etc. in the system. Although these existing dispatching automation systems can fulfill the application requirements, they are limited in dealing with process-oriented tasks. They usually don’t have the approval processes in software system but instead completing the approval by manual data transmission, or just having hard-coded approval processes.Workflow is the computerized facilitation or automation of a business process, in whole or partial. It has the advantages over other technologies in aspects of business process description, process automatic flow and process tracking management. Therefore, this paper studies how to embed workflow engine into the power grid dispatching automation master system iES600P. Then the system can achieve workflow-driven collaborative modeling and complete graphic files approval process, in order to standardize the approval process and improve work efficiency to some extent. Moreover, the process is flexible, convenient and customizable.On the basis of analyzing the software architecture of the iES600P system, the work logic and program structure of the graphic modeling tool, and the application of open source workflow engine and its service API, the system optimization reform scheme was designed. The basic goals of the scheme are system minimum invasive, reasonable structure, and sound function. Combined Software Bus (SoftBus) and Java Native Interface (JNI) technology and guided by the optimization scheme, the workflow client, server, dependent jar packages, workflow database, etc. were then orderly developed through the VS2005, Eclipse, Qt3.3.8and SQL Developer development tools. Finally, a sample approval process was designed. And the system was integrated and deployed and its functions were verified.
