MAC layer protocol control the access method to the wireless communication channel. It is in charge of building the communication data link between densely distributed nodes and the limited wireless channel resource allocation to requested nodes. MAC service quality can be evaluated by the throughput of the networks, time delay of the data transmission and packet loss ratio.A protocol sequence is a periodic binary sequence assigned to each user in random-access to control its access to wireless channel without feedback. The mainly research presently of protocol sequences is focus on designing new sequences to increase the throughput of systems and support more users. Individual indoor intrusion detection systems based on RSSI in WSN show their advantages of WSN but still face the challenges of short energy, limited communication distance and low packet reception rate. Based on the similar way of deterring RF chip’s work state and access to channel between MAC protocol and protocol sequences, this paper use protocol sequences as a creative MAC protocol to control users’access to improve WSN fundamental performances and apply it in indoor individual passive intrusion detection.The main works and arrangement are as following:(1) Introduce the research situation of WSN, offer the meaning of the study and elaborate on the research background of MAC protocol, energy consumption, data collision in WSN, especially the research achievement of MAC protocol in those problems.(2) Introduce the work principle of protocol sequences, analysis the feasibility of indoor intrusion detection combining its propagation model, and provide WSN node energy consumption model.(3) Use protocol sequences as a creative MAC protocol for WSN, compare the performances of random access, wobbling protocol sequences and TDMA, and simulate the node energy consumption and packet reception ratio.(4) Select wobbling protocol sequences as MAC protocol to improve WSN fundamental performances to conduct indoor intrusion detection experiment. Introduce the experimental platform both in software and hardware, result display interface, detection algorithm and experiment results.(5) Analysis the inadequacies of this paper and explore future research.
